Yoga for Snow Legs

4-week block

Let’s be honest. If you’re living in Wānaka, there’s a 50/50 chance you’ve been (at least close) to the Olympics for some kind of snow sport. And much like 90% of the town, I too am guilty of being slightly obsessed with all things snowboarding, hence why I’ve been running Yoga for Snow Legs for over 4 years. With a focus on strength building and recovery, this course is run year-round for those dedicated to the slopes and wanting to strengthen their performance through yoga in Wānaka. We have both adult and youth classes, which each allow between 6-12 people per class. This includes access to daily yoga workouts, health hacks, relevant TED talks, and more. Go, snow people, go.

Energising Vinyasa Flow

Characterised by its seamless transitions, Vinyasa yoga is an energising, uplifting yoga flow. Moving directly from one pose to the next, this one is all about the flow - letting your breath guide your body as you exhale and inhale.

Calming Yin

Unlike yang yoga which focuses directly on your muscles, yin yoga is more about resetting the nervous system. Yin targets your ligaments, bones, joints and deep connective tissue - such as your fascia, the thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fibres and muscle in place and tightens when you’re stressed.

Relaxing Hatha

Hatha yoga involves moving your body into different poses slowly and deliberately, focusing on controlled breathing and posture. Relaxation and mindfulness are big ones in Hatha yoga, centering your mind while also challenging your strength and flexibility.
